Faith is what pleases God. Yes, God himself says in the bible that by us having faith in Him and His Word, He is pleased with us (Hebrews 11:1-12). Faith is confidence in God’s Word, and how can we have faith in God’s Word, when we do not know what God’s Word says? In Joshua 1:8 God tells Joshua, this book shall not depart from your mouth, and to meditate on it day and night. (Now most people think of meditation as sitting Indian style and saying uhmmm uhmm. That is not what meditation means in the Hebrew text. It means to murmur or mumble to ones self.) We are to speak God’s Word to our self day and night, and then we will have a prosperous life and success (Joshua 1:8). When we get the Word and then know that the Word is inside of us, and then this is what faith will become. Faith is an outward expression of an inward confidence in God and His Word. 2 Corinthians 5:7 to walk by faith not by sight. So we should speak those things that are not as though they were. Do not look at the natural world that your eyes see, but look at the promises God has given to you through your faith filled spirit man eyes. Look into the bible. God created this world off of His faith not by His sight. He spoke words of life to this universe and created it. By the natural sight it was formless and void, but by spiritual sight and faith the world was not void it was good. Abraham did the same thing. He did not look at having a baby at 99 with his natural limited eyes. He believed in God’s Promise, and had the child that was promised to him. It is so easy to look at any situation and put limits on ourselves. We have to stop doing that and build up our faith. Look at the promises of God and trust in, rely on, and have faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father. The last thing is we must build up our faith, and how do we do that? Well Romans 10:17 says Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of Christ. It is not what we have heard. It comes by hearing right now, and what we are continually hearing that builds up our faith. It is a very dangerous thing to get into that habit of just saying I know that, and I have heard that before. Because that will block you from doing what the scripture says we need to be doing. (The word Christ was originally translated in the King James Version as God, but in the Greek text you will see that it does say Christ in Romans 10:17. That is why you will see Christ in the New American Standard and Amplified Bibles and an inaccurate translation of God in the King James Version.)
Here are some other scriptures that talk about faith:
Matthew 17:20, 21:21
Mark 4:40, 11:22
Romans 1:17, 4:9, 5:1, 10:17
1 Corinthians 2:5
Hebrews 11:1-12
